Beehive Books & More in Edgewood, WA

Beehive Books & More in Edgewood certainly lives up to it’s name.  Looking at the photos you see the front of the store.  One shot showing the south end of the building (Beehive Books) and the next shot shows the north end of the building (H & H supply).  This building has been part of Edgewoods history.  It’s been here in different forms for years, and has been remodeled so many times that it can’t be verified for sure what is was to begin with.  Some of the old timers think that it could have been the site of the first school house.

Currently it houses Beehive Books and More at one end and H & H Supply at the other end.  H & H at one point occupied the entire building.  Even though Beehive Books has been in the building for over 3 years they still get people walking in looking for lawn mowers.   I’ve actually been in the store and watched people walk get a confused look on their face and ask “What happened to the lawn mower store?”

Beehive Books is much more than just a book store.  They do have a wide selection of spiritual books, paintings and other pieces of art work.  They maintain clothes and supplies for the Boy Scouts of America.  Along with having a line of Baby/Blessing Dresses, modest Formal Gowns, Wedding Dresses, and Men’s suits.

They stock candles and bath and body products from Salt City Candles.   They have a variety of kitchen appliance from Bosch.

They even have one corner of the store set aside for custom picture framing.  They specialize in restoration and preservation of heirloom photographs.   They have the experience to do any number of things.  I recently had them frame an item that my mother brought back with her from a vacation in Egypt.  A painting done on Papyrus paper.   I’ve taken a few shots of the inside of the store.  The last photo is of the painting I had framed.  It may look plain but papyrus paper is very hard to work with as it naturally wants to roll up.  If you look closely you can see the edges of the print.  I’ve got another print at home just waiting for its turn.   I’m so glad I’ve found an expert so close to home.  I’d recommend Steve for any framing or restoration work.

Anyone interested in checking them out the website address is  http://www.beehivebooksandmore.com   the street address is 10213 24th St E   Edgewood, WA  98372    phone   253-927- HIVE  (4483)

Nice spot on Beehive books. I’ve been in that store too and am always amazed how much merchandise they fit into that place. They even have a relaxing reading area where you can just come and sit and read your favorite books. They can special order just about anything with an ISBN number.
